How does Paper & Poste work?
We have the pleasure of being able to offer our clients two different routes when it comes to creating the perfect invitation set! We can help you customize your favourite design from one of our 8 beautiful catalogue lines in studio, or we can create something totally unique, completely from scratch through our custom design services. Don’t worry if you’re not sure which direction to go in, we can help find the right fit for you!

How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, check out our contact page and click the “schedule an appointment” button. You’ll find a calendar with all currently available appointments. Click on your preferred date to see if there are time slots currently open. We tend to book up quickly, so make sure you reserve your meeting as soon as you can. We can’t wait to meet you!

What can I expect at my appointment?
Once you book your appointment, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail that includes a link to a short questionnaire that we ask you to fill out and submit before you get here. Once you arrive, one of our design consultants will go over this with you at the beginning of the appointment so we can discuss the details of your big day, get an understanding of your dream wedding, and think about what unique and beautiful stationery ideas we can share with you! From there, we’ll guide you through our range of catalogue lines, or discuss custom design ideas if that’s more your style. Either way, you get to browse and be inspired by all the eye candy we have here in our comfy studio! Have questions for us? Awesome! How long does the ordering process take?
The timeline for the ordering process can range depending on which catalogue line you choose, or what custom design details you want! Generally speaking, we ask that all clients allot approximately 4-6 weeks once the order is placed to allow for design and printing time, as well as shipping time if you choose to go with one of our catalogue lines.

Do you have a minimum quantity for an Invitation order?
Our catalogue lines all require minimum orders of 50 pieces, however we can accommodate any quantity, big or small, through our custom design services! Having said that, it’s important to note that the same set-up and design fees are worked into any order regardless of the quantity, so price breaks do apply depending on how many invitation sets you require!

How much on average do your couples spend on stationery?
On average, a four piece set (which includes an invitation, reply card and envelope for both) based on a quantity of 100 starts anywhere from $15-$20 and can go up to $50+ and beyond, depending on the printing method chosen, additional cards and quantities, etc. That seems like a pretty broad range, but because all our design options are totally customizable, you’re free to add or take away details to alter the price point according to your budget. Need help in that area? No worries! We’re great at helping you build the perfect invitation set at a comfortable price point for you. We find that our average couple spends between $20-$30 a set once they’ve added any additional inserts (maps, accommodation details etc.) as well as guest addressing!

How do I get a quote?
Come meet with us! Once you come in for your appointment and have decided on a few potential stationery directions, we will create and e-mail quotes to you based specifically on the designs you’re interested in.

What are catalogue lines?
We carry 8 beautiful, customizable Catalogue Lines here in studio. These are other stationery companies that we represent, and offer alongside our custom design services. We act as a design consultant on their behalf, helping you customize pre-existing invitation suites with your own colours, font choices and details. We’ll guide you throughout the entire process, offering our design expertise to you along the way!

I want Custom Invitations, how does that work?
At Paper & Poste, we offer a Custom Design service for couples who want a completely unique invitation set. Nothing gets us more giddy than realizing your ideas in unexpected, creative ways! We will work with you to develop and create exactly what you are imagining for your invitations. Have an idea that’s somewhat unusual? Perfect. We love working on unique projects! When do you recommend sending out Save the Dates & Invitations?
If you choose to send Save-the-Dates, we recommend that they’re mailed out anywhere from 6 months to a year in advance of the wedding date. The point is to make sure your guests don’t make other plans on your big day, so the earlier the better! We suggest that invitations are sent out closer to 3 months before the wedding. This gives your guests time to let you know if they’re coming, and also helps you anticipate your final guest list!

Do you offer Day of Stationery items such as Menus, Place Cards etc.?
We sure do! We can create any paper-related item for the day of your wedding! We can base the “day of” pieces on the design of your invitation, or they can be inspired by any other element of your big day. The list is endless, but some common “day of” stationery items are programs, menus, place cards, table numbers, seating charts, escort cards, favour tags, drink signs, sweet table signage, large format ceremony signs or posters. If you have a unique idea that you’d like to run by us, just ask! We’re always excited to create unique pieces and make your ideas a reality!

When should we begin thinking about our Day of Stationery pieces?
If you’re interested in place cards, menus, programs, or any other stationery for the “day of” your wedding, get in touch with us at least a month before your event. At that point, you should have a more accurate idea of how many guests you’re expecting, which will help when you are trying to organize what stationery you require!

What is Letterpress?
You may have seen stationery where the design is actually de-bossed in to the card stock, so there is an actual impression that you can feel with your fingers. That’s letterpress! We offer letterpress printing in both our custom design services and our catalogue lines. If you’re looking for something extra to really ‘wow’ your guests, you might be interested in foil-stamping. This is considered to be another method of letterpress printing, where shiny foil in a variety of colours is de-bossed in to the card stock. This is also an option through our custom design services as well as many of our catalogue lines (and is one of our favourite letterpress techniques!)

Do you only offer Letterpress?
No! - we offer a number of different printing methods besides letterpress through our custom design services. These include digital printing, offset printing, and thermography! Both digital and offset printing result in a flat-printed piece without any texture, while thermography actually treats the print so that the ink is raised, offering your guests a unique tactile experience!

What other kind of design services do you offer?
Although we specialize in designing stationery for weddings and other social events, we’ve worked with many clients on personal stationery, business cards, branding design and more! Can you create a bilingual invitation?
We sure can! We’ve worked with a number of couples who have required bilingual invitations. So long as you’re able to provide the text, we can absolutely work with you to create a multicultural invite. Please note however, that additional costs can be incurred depending on the complexity of the situation – we like to quote on an individual basis to find the solution that works best for you!

I don’t live in Toronto, can I still work with Paper & Poste?
Yes, of course! We’d love to work you! We have worked with a number of out-of-province and international clients in the past. We can communicate over the phone and via e-mail to ensure that you’re comfortable throughout the entire ordering & design process!
